Dental Advice
To keep everyone smiling!
Having a clean mouth is important. Not only is it healthy but it gives you fresher breath, a nicer smile and more confidence.
Every time you eat food the bacteria that live in your mouth use it to produce a sticky film that we call plaque. Plaque is what causes tooth decay and gum disease. If you want more information about either of these diseases please feel free to speak to one of our team.

Here's a list of our top 5 do's & don'ts of Oral Hygiene!
  1. Brush your teeth twice a day, spit out excess toothpaste and don't rinse out your mouth - this keeps the fluoride on your teeth for longer to keep them strong!
  2. Floss or use interdental brushes between your teeth daily – this is best done at night
  3. Use fluoride-based dental products – check recommended guidelines.
  4. Eat a balanced & healthy diet – limiting snacks between meals
  5. Visit the Dentist regularly (try for 2 times a year)

  1. Don’t consume too much sugar in your diet (not only for your teeth but also for your figure!)
  2. Don’t leave a problem unchecked
  3. Don’t give your children sweets or fizzy drinks as snacks
  4. Don’t rush through your cleaning – It should last 2 minutes (that's about the length of a song!)
  5. Don’t clean your teeth too frequently – this can damage your teeth, stick to the recommended twice daily (or after high sugary food as well).
  6. Don't rinse your mouth after brushing - just spitNHS Dentist, teeth whitening, hygienist, emergency dentist, dental implants, Edinburgh NHS Dentist, facial rejuvenation, straight teeth, Edinburgh, southside dental care, fife, Lothian, penicuik, Scotland
