Southside dental care is an NHS practice but acknowledges the ever-increasing need for cosmetic treatment in today’s society. Our practice principal has spent time training in a cosmetic practice and we are able to provide a range of cosmetic treatments, which may not be available on the NHS.

White fillings
Currently we are unable to provide white fillings on back teeth in the NHS. White fillings allow us to restore decayed or broken teeth almost invisibly. Please speak to your dentist about the aesthetic advantages of white fillings.

Tooth whitening
Many of us would like to have a brighter, whiter smile. Southside Dental Care can provide this using up to date Zoom technology. This private procedure has been proven to whiten your teeth by up to ten shades in 45 minutes. It has been commonly seen on “Extreme Makeover”. In some cases NHS whitening is available, your dentist will advise you in these cases.

Veneers
Veneers are thin coverings of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They can lighten discoloured teeth, straighten squint teeth and close spaces between front teeth. Veneers are sometimes available on the NHS so please ask your dentist for advice.

Crowns and Bridges
Crowns can be used to restore and improve the look and function of teeth that are badly damaged. Crowns are sometimes referred to as a “cap”. Bridges are used to restore a space left by a lost tooth. They can make chewing easier and improve appearance. Both crowns and bridges can be available on the NHS but there are private options, which are worth discussing with your dentist.

Wisdom Tooth Solutions
Wisdom teeth can cause pain when they erupt partially through the gum. This can often be treated conservatively but may eventually require removal of the wisdom tooth. We can place you on the NHS waiting list for wisdom tooth removal. At Southside Dental Care we have a visiting oral surgeon who may be able to remove your troublesome wisdom tooth sooner. This service will only be available privately. Please contact us if you suspect wisdom tooth trouble.

Botox
Botox is the material used to minimise the appearance of worry lines, crows feet, laughter lines and other wrinkles.
