A dental implant is a replica of a natural tooth as it replaces both the crown and the root. It is made of porcelain with a metal core. The reason implants are so effective is down to the small titanium screw that is inserted as an artificial tooth root into the jaw. Within a few months,the living bone grows around the screw forming a permanent secure bond, just like a healthy tooth root. Then a metal post is fixed onto the screw and the replacement porcelain tooth, or crown, is attached. Hygiene Vists
Dental hygienists are experts in teaching you how to look after your teeth and gums. They can discuss your diet, suggest ways to improve and maintain your oral health, and even advise you on ways you can give up smoking, a habit which has been proven to be very damaging to teeth and gums.
At your hygiene appointment, our hygienist, Rachael, will aim to remove any plaque and tartar above and below the gum line (which may involve more than one visit), so that growth of harmful bacteria that causes gum disease can be eliminated. She will also help show you the best way to keep your mouth and teeth plaque free.
Rachael can also help you give your teeth & smile a treat! With our state of the art, revolutionary AIRFLOW polishing system you will have your teeth stain-free and back to their natural colour within minutes. A mixture of air and special Airflow lemon flavoured powder combine with a water jet to remove plaque and staining from teeth, fast and effectively.

Home whitening
At-home whitening alternatives are available if Zoom Advanced Power is not for you. At-home whitening involves you wearing a set of specially made trays that are designed to fit your teeth perfectly. These trays are worn nightly for 2-4 weeks with our special take-home whitening gel. After your teeth are at their whitest then you need only "top-up" with the trays as and when necessary.
Veneers
Veneers are thin coverings of porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth. They can lighten discoloured teeth, straighten squint teeth and close spaces between front teeth. Veneers are sometimes available on the NHS so please ask your dentist for advice.
Crowns and Bridges
Dental crowns are the ideal restoration for teeth that have broken, or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling. The crown completely covers and protects the tooth underneath and restores it to its proper shape and size, they can also be used to change the shape of teeth. Crowns can be made from a variety of different materials and are fixed in place with special dental adhesive.
A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth or teeth and consists of more than one crown joined together to close or “bridge” the gap between two supporting healthy teeth.
Both crowns and bridges can be available on the NHS but there are private options too. You can discuss with your dentist which option fits your needs best.
